Kyo was doing fairly well on his side, no elk really daring enough to try to get past him... except this one bull that would not give up. Kyo knew it was a leader if it went, they'd all go and he and Taima would have 5 times more work. He joustled and danced with the bull, snapping and flinging water, but it seemed relentless. Every so often Kyo would flick his eyes to his mate, he knew she was good at what she did, but she was his mate after all and he had a right to be worried. One one such time the bull found its chance, surging forwards and rushing past Kyo. The brute cursed, whipping around and trying to hold back the females that were indeed trying to follow. At least they were much easier. However, being preoccupied with them meant the bull ran rampant, straight towards the caves.
The bull crashed and thundered on, bellowing its deep call and its eyes flashing menacingly. It tried running into the Cavern, but the tight walls of the entrance and its large bulky horns weren't a fit and it couldn't get in. Flustered and even more angry it tried for the next cave, the Pack den.
Coal squealed as a quarter ton beast came ramapaging towards hers and the pups hideaway. Antlers were ducking and shoving, while hooves thrashed below. Help! She called, but she quickly realized that there was no way the other two could hear her, and if they did they were much preoccupied... She flailed for a moment before.... something clicked. She had turned around, spying the curve where the pups were in. She wasn't the youngest here anymore.. and she had the responsibility to save them. The small steely fae whipped around again, this time though, a difference about her. Her hackles raised and she growled. The bull didn't do anything but get more enraged, thrashing horns into the cave's cavity. Coal barked and howled, the echos of her voice reverberating and causing the bull to buck. This gave her an idea. The fae snapped at one of the legs, biting at the soft thin part near the hoove. The bull bellowed, crashing down to its knee. Still no one was out the clear yet, it still had head movement and massively sharp horns. Coal let go, assessing. What would a wolf do if on the hunt? Her mind scanned. She had never had a large successful hunt, and only watched a few others have one... What was tender? What was... the neck! She spied where she needed to go, but the antlers... Well someone had to try and she was the only one here. Coal lunged, only getting a mouthful of antler. She thrashed with the bulls strength, but she didn't let go, waiting... waiting. Finally getting her chance when the beast tried getting up she unlatched, clamping her jaw onto its neck. Struggle ensued... however less and less as time went on. In about two minutes, the bull was limp.
